Description

OLD HOME DAY

Experience traditional crafts within NYC's only Historic Village.

WE ARE OPEN RAIN OR SHINE!

Watch the blacksmith and tinsmiths at work, meet the chair-caner, “colonial” cooks making bread and soup, expert quilters, beekeepers, spinners and more.

What does Old Home Day mean anyway?
Short and simple, it's a New England tradition started over 100
years ago as a day-long celebration that welcomed back
former residents to the old home ground.  Towns prepared an
Old Home Day festival to stay connected to
old friends and introduce new friends.

Today, we honor that tradition as we invite old and new friends
to a day that celebrates the traditional lifestyle. We recreate and
demonstrate the numerous hand crafts that defined American
life in previous centuries.  These skills helped build thousands
of small villages and towns into a prosperous nation.  Experience a
warm down-home feeling on a cool fall Old Home Day at Historic
Richmond Town.

You can also enjoy double the fun on Old Home Day.  Take on the
village and Decker Farm in one big town and country visit. Savor
fresh hot bread baked in our 200 year old village oven and then
head to the farm for pumpkin picking and a hay ride.  It's all part
of the delicious fun strolling through America's past and present.

Here's what you'll see at this year's Old Home Day!
