Description

The Adult Book Club meets monthly on the first Tuesday of every month in the congenial atmosphere of M. Bennett Cafe to discuss popular historical novels. Light refreshments to be for sale during the meeting.

 

We begin Island at the Center of the World: The Epic Story of Dutch Manhattan and the Forgotten Colony That Shaped America by Russell Shorto which can be purchased in our museum gift shop for $14.00.

 

The book is available for sale in our Museum Store.

Description

Located on the corner of Court Place and Richmond Road.  Parking for Bennett Cafe Patrons only.  Musuem parking is available at 441 Clarke Avenue.

 

Bennett House c.1839; addition c.1854
Built as part of a real estate development near the Third County Courthouse, this Greek Revival-style residence was home to shipping merchant John Bennett and his family from c.1848-1917. The building later served as a restaurant.
