Easter has been an occasion for family fun as well as a religious holiday since the 1890's. In that decade, the first Easter egg rolling was held on the White House lawn. Ida Dale of Westerleigh, aged 10 years old, hid an egg under "Papa's" breakfast tea cup and thought it so amusing that she recorded it in her diary. Bring an egg carton to decorate in high Victorian style, transforming it into a festive egg-holder which can hold up to 6 candy-filled eggs. All decorations are provided. Meet the Easter Bunny as you hunt for eggs. Refreshments will be served. Recommended for children ages 3 and up. Prepaid reservations are required, please call 718-351-1611 Ext. 281 $8/child, $3/adults; Members of the Staten Island Historical Society, $7/child, adults free.
