Event
DescriptionTwo shows: 7:30 and 9:00 PM ![]() The Tavern and Stout go together like bacon ‘n’ beans! They’re a group of experienced folk musicians who combine hearty five-part vocal harmonies with traditional acoustic instruments and create an enthusiastic 19th century musical experience, not to be missed. The members of STOUT (www.stoutmusic.org) weave their repertoire from many strands of American traditional musical history in the candle-lit Guyon Tavern at Historic Richmond Town. They form a sampler of musical Americana with songs from colonial days, broadsides from the revolutionary and post-revolutionary war periods, folk and popular songs of the nineteenth century, sea chanteys and even some contemporary folk tunes. Listen to Stout performing The Quarantine written by Norm Pederson and download the lyrics. STOUT is comprised of Bob Conroy, Bill Grau, Frank Hendricks, Norm Pederson and Denny Ryan; their credits include concerts at Old Bethpage Village, South Street Seaport, Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum, as well as providing traditional music background at varied special events at Historic Richmond Town. $15 per person, $12 for SIHS Members
