Our site relies on many additional frameworks, components, modules, and plugins available for Joomla!® including: CiviCRM, Gantry Framework. We have customized, extended, and authored software components for use in our site, especially to support a responsive design for this, our fourth, major site revision.

Andrew Schmitt has served as the Richmond Town webmaster since 1997, launching 4 major versions of the site since then, with the most recent one in 2014.

As an information technology professional with a deep interest in history, whose roots reach back to the 1850s in Staten Island, Andrew has been a volunteer at Historic Richmond Town since 1984. Starting at age 12, Andrew was a participant in the apprentice program, working in several trades such as printing, harnessmaking, and carpentry. Andrew later worked as the Job Printer, progressing from journeyman to master craftsman over a period of several years.

Terms of Service - Online Ticket Policy

Our goal at Historic Richmond Town is to make your purchasing experience easy, efficient and equitable, so we can get you on your way to events and programs as quickly as possible. The following purchase policies are designed to ensure your satisfaction and understanding of the purchase process on

PLEASE NOTE: Your email confirmation which details the number of tickets purchased is your ticket.  Please print this out and present it at the gate on the day of the event.

This Purchase Policy is subject to, and incorporates by this reference, the terms of use for this site. Each ticket that you purchase is a license to attend a particular event, and is subject to the additional terms set forth on that ticket and the policies of Historic Richmond Town.


All ticket prices for events are stated in U.S. Dollars.

Payment Methods accepts several methods of payment to accommodate your needs. If the event for which you are buying tickets is located in the United States, accepts American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover for qualifying events through the PayPal service. You do not need to register with PayPal to make payment.

Pricing and Availability

Tickets for popular events may sell out quickly. Occasionally, additional tickets may be available prior to the event. Online tickets are priced for prepaid reservation discounting.

Order Confirmation

If you do not receive a confirmation number (in the form of a confirmation page or email) after submitting payment information, or if you experience an error message or service interruption after submitting payment information, it is your responsibility to confirm with Historic Richmond Town via email or phone (718-351-1611 ext. 270) whether or not your order has been placed. Only you may be aware of any problems that may occur during the purchase process. Historic Richmond Town will not be responsible for losses (monetary or otherwise) if you assume that an order was not placed because you failed to receive confirmation.

Convenience Charges and Order Processing Fees

Tickets purchased on may be subject to a per ticket convenience charge and a non-refundable per order processing fee. In some cases, delivery prices will also be owed. These fees will be posted and made clear before your purchase.

Amount of Tickets Per Customer or "Ticket Limits"

When purchasing tickets on you may be limited to a specified number of tickets for each event (also known as a "ticket limit"). This limit is posted during the purchase process and is verified with every transaction. This policy is in effect to discourage unfair ticket buying practices.

Cancelled and Postponed Events

Unless otherwise posted all events are rain or shine. If an event is postponed your ticket will be valid for the scheduled rain date.

Refunds and Exchanges

Our events are all rain or shine unless otherwise posted.  Refunds, credits and exchanges will only be made available up to 7 days in advance of the date and time of the start of the event. For example, if the event is scheduled and posted to begin at 11:00 AM on a Sunday you must request your refund before 11:00 AM on the previous Sunday. For the purpose of time stamping and record keeping requests for refunds of online tickets must be made via email only.

Billing Information Verification

Orders are processed only after a billing address, and other billing information, has been verified. Occasionally, we receive incorrect billing or credit card account information for a ticket order that can delay processing and delivery. In these cases, Historic Richmond Town customer service will attempt to contact you, using the information provided at the time of purchase. If Historic Richmond Town is unable to reach you after its initial attempt, Historic Richmond Town may cancel your order and may sell your tickets to another customer without further notice.

Ticket Delivery

Your email confirmation is your ticket. You must print it out and present it at the gate. If your party is split into two or more groups please print out multiple copies to present at the gate.

Pricing and Other Errors

If the amount you pay for a ticket is incorrect regardless of whether because of an error in a price posted on this website or otherwise communicated to you, or you are able to order a ticket before its scheduled on-sale or presale date or you are able to order a ticket that was not supposed to have been released for sale, then: Historic Richmond Town will have the right to cancel that ticket (or the order for that ticket) and refund to you the amount that you paid. This will apply regardless of whether because of human error or a transactional malfunction of this website or other Historic Richmond Town operated system.

Multiple Browser Windows

When ordering tickets online with Historic Richmond Town, please ensure you are looking for tickets and placing an order using only one browser window. Looking up tickets using multiple browser windows could result in losing your tickets or timer expiration.

Limitation of Liability

You assume all risks incidental to the event for which a ticket is issued, whether before, during or after the event, and you waive any claims for personal injury or death against Historic Richmond Town on behalf of yourself and any accompanying minor.

License; Ejection and Cancellation; No Redemption Value

Event Providers reserve the right, without refund of any amount paid, to refuse admission to, or eject, any person whose conduct management deems disorderly, who uses vulgar or abusive language or who fails to comply with Historic Richmond Town and event rules and policies. Breach of terms or rules will terminate your license to attend the event without refund. A ticket is a revocable license and admission may be refused upon refunding the ticket's face amount. A ticket is not redeemable for cash.

Recording, Transmission and Exhibition

You agree not to record or transmit, or aid in recording or transmitting, any description, account, picture, or reproduction of the event. You agree that the event for which you purchase tickets is a public event, that your appearance and actions inside and outside the venue where the event occurs are public in nature, and that you have no expectation of privacy with regard to your actions or conduct at the event. You grant permission to Historic Richmond Town and the Event Provider(s) to utilize your name, image, likeness, acts, poses, plays, appearance, movements, and statements in any live or recorded audio, video, or photographic display or other transmission, exhibition, publication or reproduction made of, or at, the event (regardless of whether before, during or after play or performance) for any purpose, in any manner, in any medium or context now known or hereafter developed, without further authorization from, or compensation to, you or anyone acting on your behalf.

You Are Subject to Search

You and your belongings may be searched on entry to the event. You consent to such searches and waive any related claims that may arise. If you elect not to consent to such searches, you may be denied entry to the event without refund or other compensation. Under certain facility rules, certain items may not be brought into the premises, including without limitation firearms, weapons, alcohol, drugs, and controlled substances. Certain items may be restricted on the premises, including without limitation, cameras, recording devices, bundles and large packages. Domesticated animals, not utilized for assistance with disabilities, may be restricted at the discretion of management.

Unlawful Re-Sale of Tickets; Commercial Purposes

Unlawful resale of tickets (or attempted resale) is grounds for seizure and cancellation without compensation. A ticket shall not be used for advertising, promotions, contests or sweepstakes, unless formal written authorization is given by the Event Provider, provided that even if such consent is obtained, any use of Historic Richmond Town's trademarks and other intellectual property is subject to Historic Richmond Town's consent.


Terms of Service - Returns Policy for Merchandise

Please see our general policy for event tickets and reservations.

You can cancel a merchandise order within 24 hours of your order.  Digital/downloaded items cannot be cancelled once payment is confirmed.

You can return new, unopened physical merchandise from a canceled order within 2 weeks after they have been delivered to you. Items should be returned in their original packaging.

 There are no refunds or returns for digital items/downloads.


Privacy Policy


Historic Richmond Town (also herein referred to as “HRT” or “the Museum”) is strongly committed to protecting the privacy of its online guests, customers, members, patrons, sponsors, donors, and friends. We believe that helping to maintain privacy on the web is very important; informing visitors to our site about the types of data we collect and how we use it is very important.

Any personal information provided to Historic Richmond Town is maintained and accessible only by the Museum and its authorized agents, unless the Museum explicitly states otherwise.

The Museum will never intentionally disclose any personal information about you as an individual user (such as your name, street address, telephone number, credit card number, or e-mail address) to any third party without having received your prior permission, unless compelled to in order to comply with legal requirements.


Historic Richmond Town has taken all possible precautions to insure that the privacy of its online visitors is protected by any online partners. In cases when users leave the Museum’s site to visit one of its partners’ sites, users are encouraged to become familiar with the privacy statements of each site they visit.


Occasional changes may be made to this privacy policy as new services and content are added to / removed from the site or to keep current with changes in the Museum’s policies. Visitors to the Museum’s Web site should periodically review this privacy policy for HRT privacy guidelines which are in effect.


Historic Richmond Town does not collect, through its website, any personal information about individuals—such as names and postal or e-mail addresses—except when such information is knowingly provided to the Museum. Personal information may be received as part of a form submission or in connection with other activities, services, or resources made available on the site. Any personal identification information retrieved by the Museum must be voluntarily submitted by the user.

Like most sites, the Museum’s web server does collect some anonymous “non-personally identifiable” information about visitors automatically when pages on our Web site are requested through a browser. This information is used for statistical purposes and to help us monitor how guests navigate the site, allowing us to improve our services for the majority of visitors. Non-personally identifiable information may refer to information about our visitors’ browsers (e.g., Google® Chrome, Sarafi, Firefox®, Opera), operating systems (e.g., Windows or Macintosh or Linux), Internet Service Providers (e.g., Verizon®, RCN®, or Optimum Online®), and other similar information.

The Museum’s Web server records connecting IP addresses as part of the non-personally identifiable information. An IP address is a number assigned to your computer, or device that you are connecting through, and is assigned by your Internet service provider. This information is used only for non-user-specific purposes such as determining how many users visited a specific area of our site. Such information could, if necessary, be used to identify a user in order to comply with safety and/or security issues or with legal requirements.


A cookie is a small file that is sent to your browser from a Web site and stored on your computer’s persistent storage device(s). Historic Richmond Town might use cookies to control access to user specific site features, to customize content areas, or to analyze site activity and user browsing and/or navigation behavior. The Museum also reserves the right to use cookies in the future with new content or to extended functionality.

CharlesSullivan 120x150Charles Sullivan is no stranger to acting. This time traveling performer has appeared on stages across Staten Island, most recently as Scrooge with Shakespeare Theatre, as well as with Sea View Playwright’s Theatre, Sundog Theatre, and In the Wings.

This season, he portrays James Guyon Jr., the historic proprietor of Historic Richmond Town’s Guyon Inn and Store. Home to the legendary Guyon Concerts, the circa 1819 building serves up an authentic 19th century acoustic music experience with a warm and resonant sound quality illuminated by candlelight and warmed by a potbelly stove.
