Charlie Sullivan to portray legendary American politician James Guyon Jr. at upcoming Guyon Tavern Concert Series

CharlesSullivan 120x150Charles Sullivan is no stranger to acting. This time traveling performer has appeared on stages across Staten Island, most recently as Scrooge with Shakespeare Theatre, as well as with Sea View Playwright’s Theatre, Sundog Theatre, and In the Wings.

This season, he portrays James Guyon Jr., the historic proprietor of Historic Richmond Town’s Guyon Inn and Store. Home to the legendary Guyon Concerts, the circa 1819 building serves up an authentic 19th century acoustic music experience with a warm and resonant sound quality illuminated by candlelight and warmed by a potbelly stove.

Patriotic Artist Scott LoBaido Lights Up Historic Richmond Town

Dec 22, 2017 - STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The chalk white exterior of the landmarked Bennett House was transformed into a canvas Thursday night for artist Scott LoBaido's patriotic LED light installation at Historic Richmond Town.

 The holiday display -- in the shape of the "Betsy Ross Flag" -- is part of the Staten Island Historical Society's history driven, future-focused approach to reimagining New York City's only living history village.

Skip the leftovers and enjoy open-hearth fire-cooked Thanksgiving samplings

Thanksgiving TableThe meal that many American families enjoy on Thanksgiving has deep roots in the earliest American food traditions. Historic Richmond Town’s three historic kitchens will be crackling with hardwood fires and open-hearth cooking on Saturday November 25 and Sunday November 26. Historic Interpreters will serve food samples that feature original old-world recipes that include food items that the colonists learned about from Native American culture, and then infused with the spices used in Europe.

Online tickets are available up until 3pm, two weekdays before the event. For  Saturday and Sunday events, tickets are available online until 3 pm Thursday.
