Site Policies

At Historic Richmond Town, we are dedicated to providing an excellent experience for our visitors in an environment where visitors can explore the complexities of history in a respectful and safe manner. Visitors and staff are expected to behave appropriately, respect the rights and beliefs of others, and treat others with courtesy and consideration.  Read the full code of conduct here.

Accessibility

Historic Richmond Town is a living history village, historical museum, and arboretum. The campus includes paved and unpaved roads that lead to the various public spaces, including historic buildings restored to resemble their original construction from the 17th-19th centuries. While many of the site's buildings have wheelchair-accessible entrances, such as the Museum and Visitor Center at the 3rd County Courthouse, wheelchair access to many of the historic structures on site varies. We recognize this may make it difficult for everyone to have the same visitor experience and we are dedicated to making sure guests with disabilities have an amazing and inclusive experience.

Interpreters and staff are glad to provide directions to accessible areas and reasonable accommodations can also be arranged in advance to make Historic Richmond Town an unforgettable experience for everyone. For more information on site accessibility, contact the Visitor Services Department at ext. 247 or email gselogy[@]historicrichmondtown.org.
