Any photography session using a hand-held camera, hand-held equipment that is NOT exerting use of Historic Richmond Town property and is open to the public (including but not limited to utilizing porches and doorways of buildings) does NOT need a permit.

A PERMIT IS NEEDED IF:

• The activity uses model(s), sets(s), or prop(s) that are not a part of the location's natural or cultural resources or administrative facilities.

• The activity uses any freestanding or large handheld equipment including but not limited to tripods, lighting, etc.

• The activity is a part of a paid or unpaid contract with a professional photographer and client.

• The activity includes a crew larger than 5 people.

• Access to space(s) not accessible to the public at the time of activity is needed.

All photography equipment must be set up in a fashion that does not create safety hazards for visitors, employees, or members of your party. Any damages sustained by Historic Richmond Town as a result of this shoot will be the responsibility of the visiting party.
